Meet Ilka Rasch

My acrylic paintings and mixed media collages are influenced by Berlin’s urban street art. They share a desire to delineate a structure or find some balance within the chaos on the canvas, achieved through color or arbitrary patterns. I love experimenting with unusual materials and found objects and have a particular fondness for birds, industrial structures, circles. Teal, cadmium orange, “the blackest black” (an extremely matte black that absorbs 99% of light), mirror paint (a high-grade chrome hybrid solvent-based coating), and street ink are among my signature colors.
